Yankees: Does Joe Girardi Change the Lineup ?

Game 1 -- Yankees win and everyone feeling good, feeling confident; people are saying: "the Yankees might all the way" ... then all of sudden they lose game 2 and everyone is in panic mode as if the Yankees are down 2-1.

Moving Alex Rodriguez Down The Lineup: Do you know it'll help for sure ? No. Of course not. You know why ? Because the whole damn team is not hitting with runners in scoring position.

Moving Rodriguez down the order and placing Robinson Cano in the third spot, is not needed and won't really help. Also, you don't have anyone batting fourth. You can Mark Teixeira clean-up but he'll wrap into easy double plays with his knee not being 100%. And you're not going to bat A-Rod clean-up if you don't want him batting third.

You need Cano batting fourth. He's their only 'un-human' hitter, right now.

Does anyone cut Rodriguez some slack for facing a good right-handed relief pitcher, in Darren O'Day ? You know, O'Day has a 7-1 record out of the bullpen with a 2.28 ERA and held batters to a .202 average. You do realize that, right ? Rodriguez is not facing Joe Schmo who has a 8.00 ERA.

He's well pitched, to. Rodriguez's struggles so far in this postseason are a combination of the Oriole pitchers pitching well to him and the fact he's lost a little of his bat speed. You have be honest -- the way they pitch to him, they don't pitch like to anyone the Yankee lineup. They're in the inside corner of the plate, every time. It's amazing how perfect these pitchers become when they face him.

Pitchers still fear him. They know he can turn on any pitch and change the game. Not only change the game, you'd probably boost his confidence up and you'll have to deal with a hot-swinging A-Rod. The Orioles don't want that.

So, I would just leave A-Rod in the third hole. I personally have faith him and I think he's your perfect number three hitter at this time. And leave Cano batting fourth.

The only guy I can see Girardi replacing or moving down the lineup, is Nick Swisher. Because they have Raul Ibanez their to replace him and Ibanez is clutch.
