Top-8 Thanksgiving Essentials

Oh, it's that second most wonderful time of the year is this Thursday. Thanksgiving is so wonderful, even white people don't care about gaining weight.

But what makes this great holiday of Thanksgiving so great. Or, what are our essentials for Thanksgiving. The things we need; watch; eat, or have around you. I don't know yours, but I can show you mine.

Here's my top-8 essentials for Thanksgiving; I was planning to do a top-10 but I couldn't figure out two more things ... So all you get is a top-8, alright !

Tomorrow afternoon, you should be at Junior's getting yourself a cheesecake for Thursday. That's a job for the family member who doesn't work.

After you're done eating turkey, you need some dessert ! Cheesecake ! Again and again ! A lesser cheesecake -- I think not ! Well, maybe the one with half chocolate.

Only latin families know that rice with gandules -- or, arroz with gandules -- is an essential in their Thanksgiving homes.

Turkey and white rice...eh. Turkey with rice-gandules, yes ! You need some taste and ingredients on that rice. Not plain white rice. Boring !

We'd usually get the traditional NFL game -- Detroit Lions vs Green Packers, or Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings on Thanksgiving. But this year will be different, as the 4-6 Lions will take on the 9-1 Houston Texans.

There's always that one annoying family member who wants to play the...turkey wishbone game ? If that's what you call it ?

Don't care much for the wishbone thing, anymore. Now, I prefer to play a wishbone game with a...woman...

This is the one thing I really love about Thanksgiving. Me being a obsessed lover of the movie "The Godfather", the AMC channel is only t.v station that's on in my house all day, on Thanksgiving. You cannot have a Thanksgiving without watching Godfather 1&2, all freaking day.

After you're done with dinner and you're stuffed, Godfather 1 is probably ending and 2 is beginning. That's when you have yourself some sweet potato pie, and just enjoy the greatest movie in film history.

Speaking of sweet potato pie, you know it's Thanksgiving when you're smelling some being baked in a hallway from a neighbor ... Ugh !

This is the no.1 Thankgiving dessert essential. Sweet potato pie has got to be made your household. It's the main dessert in Thanksgiving houses. Not only you eat it on Thursday, you also take some home with you for the weekend.

Besides The Godfather, the other show that should; that needs to be watched in your house on Thursday, and that's the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Ever since I was kid, I would wake you early on Thanksgiving so I can watch the parade and not be able to miss my favorite balloons; I never wanted to miss the Bart Simpson balloon. Once I saw that balloon, I didn't care about anything else.

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, is like no other parade in the world. NYC just brings the mystic and magic of Thanksgiving (and Christmas), that no other city or state can do. It never, ever gets old.

Can't enjoy this holiday Thursday without family. To me, I think Thanksgiving is more about family than Christmas. It's more of a 'together' holiday with family and friends, when in Christmas it's all about money, presents and stress. Thanksgiving is very simple, sweet, loving and comforting.

That's why it kinda sucks how we rush Thanksgiving nowadays, because we want to get to Black Friday and Christmas.

But just make sure you're with your family first -- think about Christmas and 2013 later.
