Marquez KO's Pacquiao in Sixth: Mayweather-Pacman will never happen

December 9, 2012

Juan Manuel Marquez knocks out Manny Pacquiao in the sixth round. Marquez now 66-5-1 after win, and Pacquiao now 54-5-2 after lost.

Well...for those who are 'hoping' and 'dreaming' for a potential Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather dream match -- your dream may be over.

Boxing has ruined Pacquiao's career, with this match. They've made him look weak, less confident, and has taken the juice out of boxing fans who've been anticipating a Mayweather-Pacquiao match. Because now we know it'll never happen.

When Larry Merchant told Pacquiao after the fight, if he would box Marquez again, Pacquiao answered "yes" to another fight, but in a sad, frustrating way. He gave a 'yea, I guess' type answer, with a sigh -- almost like, when you were little kid and your parents grounded you, and you hang your head.

I felt bad for him. He knew right then and there that his future match with Mayweather is dwindling down, or, might never happen.

I don't want to see this fight again. No one - wants to see this fight again. It would be utterly ridiculous for this match to happen again. Pacquiao's next opponent should be Floyd Mayweather!

Don't tell me we need to see this fight again because Pacquiao has got to beat Marquez to redeem himself. No he doesn't. He's already beaten him. It's useless, now. Has it been a great rivalry ? Absolutely, it has. But this match can't stop Mayweather vs Pacquiao from happening.

It's almost like boxing keeps putting Pacquiao in these redo matches to cover up Mayweather. Almost like they're covering up his undefeated streak, to keeping boxin relavant. And if that's really the truth, then that's pathetic.

No one should order, or even bother with another Pacquiao-Marquez match for the fifth time. Give the people what they want, and most importantly, give Manny what he wants.
