See, this is why MTV has been relevant for so many years. They know how to make a change by not making too much of change. And that - 'not too much of change', is race and culture. They went from Italian "guidos", to Caucasian rednecks and Dominican-Americans. That's all. And it's smart.
When I saw that the Jersey Shore was entering their last season, I thought MTV should have continued it, but with different cast members. But they thought differently. They decided to change it up -- which is important for the business and the viewers.
Different race, brings different societies and lifestyles -- sometimes. And that fascinates people. The Jersey Shore has their own look (whether you hated their clothes or not), hairstyle, lifestyle, words, etc. It made the show unique and entertaining because they weren't like a lot of people. That's what I see Buckwild and Washington Heights bringing.
The other thing I love about MTV launching these two reality shows -- they'll be premiering around the same time. Buckwild premiers, January 3rd, and Washington Heights, January 9th. So, if you don't like Buckwild you can watch Washington Heights -- or the other way around. Or, be a fan of both.

Washington Heights, Full Episodes
I'm going to be interested in Washington Heights. Because I am half hispanic, and I see their world everyday and can relate to it.
I'm guessing the members on this show are Dominican-Americans. Maybe some are Puerto Rican; not sure.
But MTV were clever to pick a Dominican ethic, because that hispanic race is what's dominating in New York, today. They've become the new Puerto Ricans of NYC -- meaning: Puerto Ricans were the first and only hispanics in New York City more numbers of years. Not anymore. You can't even find Puerto Ricans anymore. If you see a dark-skin, brunette with a nice booty and is hispanic looking, she's most likely Dominican.
Not only they're going to get attention from the Dominican communities in New York, it's going to lure the Puerto Ricans and other latin ethnics to watch, as well. Because -- Puerto Rican, Dominican -- we're all the same. It's going to relate to a lot of us.
I think the show is going to do well. The question is -- to me, if they're going succeed -- are they going to be likable, like the Jersey Shore cast. I don't know. We'll see when the show premiers on January 9th.

BUCKWILD, Full Episodes
When I first saw the preview to "Buckwild" on a commercial, I thought that MTV was trying counter off the popular of the "Honey Boo Boo" reality show -- which I've never watched; I don't even know what channel it's on. Though, it seems like MTV is trying to make their own redneck reality show.
Seeing the trailer I thought it was a too over the top. Looked as if they were trying too hard by making the show to be a "Jackass"/Jerry Springer with some normal relationships thrown in it.
If it's going to be all crazy and nothing serious, then I don't see it lasting. People are not going to watch other people do stupid shit. There's got to be some real life moments in the show; with relationship, or even family problems.
If Buckwild does have serious moments in it, then I see it succeeding. I do. I don't think it's going to be as big as the Jersey Shore, but it won't cancel after one season.
