Yankees: Raul Will Not Be Seeing You

Raul Ibanez has reached an agreement with Seattle Mariners.

If there was ever an MVP for a LDS playoff, Raul Ibanez would've been it, against the Baltimore Orioles this year, in the ALDS series win. So let's imagine if there was one, and you can say the Yankees lose the MVP of the ALDS.

Looks like Ibanez was seeking for a two-year deal from the New York Yankees, that the Seattle Mariners offered him. Yankees were not going to two years for a 40-year old OF/DH. Listen, the guy was 'money', this year's postseason. And provided us with one of the most memorable postseason moments -- us Yankee fans -- will never forget. I liked Ibanez, a lot. But the Yankees cannot sign another 40-year old player for a multi-year deal.

It looks like Ibanez was upset when the Yankees resigned Ichiro Suzuki for two-years and at 40-years of age. Ibanez must've felt he's worth the same amount of money and years, after his postseason performance this year. Ibanez did get the Yankees to the ALCS, and did give the Yankees a chance to win Game 1 of the ALCS.

If he felt that way -- he's got all the right to do so. Ibanez probably said: 'Fuck off', after all I did.

Let's not forget, Ibanez also help the Yankees late in the season. He helped get the magic number to clinch the A.L East by one, after that game against the Boston Red Sox with a game-tying homerun and walk-off hit, which was the second to last game of the season. Also can't forget that homerun against the Oakland Athletics, from that huge comeback win.

What Yankees Do Now? : After the Arizona Diamondbacks signed Cody Ross today, if I'm the Yankees, I'll ask for both Jason Kubel and Justin Upton. Or, just Upton.

This is a sign for the Yankees to get Upton. They must get him. I've explained so many reasons and times why Upton needs to be a Yankee. I don't think I have to explain myself, anymore. Upton has to be right-field, next year.
