Yankees: Curtis Granderson Out for 10 Weeks

February 24, 2013

Today in the Yankees first televised spring training game of 2013 against the Toronto Blue Jays, Curtis Granderson, in his first at-bat gets plunked on the wirst by Jays starting pitcher J.A. Happ.

Not the way us Yankee fans want to start the season off. And not the way Granderson wanted to start off the season, as well.

First, Granderson gets moved from center-field to left-field, which might have ticked him off, and now he's out for ten weeks from being hit on the wirst in his first at-bat. Very frustrating.

Good thing is he'll be returning around the middle of May.

For those wanting Granderson to be traded, you'll get a good sense of that in April.

Mark Teixeira's Comments About Granderson's Injury:

Mark Teixeira spoke to Meredith Marakovits about Granderon's injury and I found him to be a little annoying. During in the interview, right away he says: "I'm gonna fill up for Granderson's 40-homeruns" ... As if he got freaked out because he thinks everyone is going to look to him or pressure him to hit. Like...relax, bro.

I love Teixeira and all, but he didn't have to say that. It made himself sound scared. He annoyed me today, by saying that.
