SNL Fallout: Zach Galifianakis Hosts

May 5, 2013

"Hangover" star Zach Galifianakis hosted the newest Saturday Night Live edition.

Could've been better.

I was very excited for this weekend's SNL with Galifianakis hosting, because you knew it was going to be good. He's hosted twice -- I believe -- and two times the show was great. Not so much the third time.

Galifianakis can make skits funny without even trying hard. He can just stare at the t.v screen and be funny. And with the brilliant SNL writers, you would think this would be a piece of cake to write out and make people laugh. But I think they overly tried to make the skits weird, since Galifianakis' comedy is eccentric like that, and not just go for the people's funny bone. The writers should've just made the show easy-funny, instead of weird-funny.

As of right now, Seth MacFarlane still holds the trophy for the best host of this season.

The Monologue:

Good monologue. Though, not as good as his last monologue when he was "Annie".

I wonder if that was really him, playing the piano. If so, that is amazing.

Game of Game of Thrones:

I thought this was Galifianakis' best skit of the show. The way he moved his mouth, is what made his character so great and so realistically nerdy.

He reminded me of a cartoon character on "South Park" from the way he spoke.

Of Monsters and Men - "Little Talks"

One of my favorite songs of this year. It's feel good song; something we don't get a lot in this music world, today.

Randall:

Great sketch by Fred Armisen. He's the only cast member who can impersonate a high gaget computer guy.

Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started a Conversation With at a Party's Summer Plans:

Cecily Strong is like an aspirin to me. When I see her, my headache goes away.
