This is an idea that can be crushed in few minutes, since there are talks between the Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics for a Doc Rivers, Kevin Garnett for Jason Terry or Courtney Lee.
But the reason I'm bringing this idea up is because the talks have hit a "snag" between the two teams, yet again. So let's say if this deal doesn't go through, and the Miami Heat lose in the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs -- would the Heat consider trading Chris Bosh to the Celtics for Doc Rivers and Kevin Garnett?
If this happens, obviously Heat coach Eric Spoelstra would have to be fired. It could happen if the Heat lose this series. With no coach, you don't think LeBron James and Dwyane Wade would want have Doc Rivers to replace?
Kevin Garnett would have to be added in the deal, since Miami would need a big in the paint when trading Bosh. Garnett brings that toughness and size in the paint Miami lacks.
Now, if you're Boston, you might want a little more back. Bosh is very good, but I would also ask for a Norris Cole, or Udonis Haslem.
The Celtics can't just trade Garnett and have nothing in the paint. Bosh may not be the physical player Garnett is or once was, but Bosh is way better than nothing; and he's also young. Boston gets younger in this trade. You lose a great player and coach, but you gain an all-star player back.
With Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo and Bosh, that's not a bad team. That could be a 5th or 6th seed team. Then maybe Brian Shaw would be interested in joining Boston to coach.
