Ohh, Kerry Washington is pregnant! No wonder her butt looked so big and hump-able.
Terrific job by miss.Washington, hosting the newest edition of Saturday Night Live. She was outstanding at every sketch and on point. I didn't know she was that good at impersonating so many different types of people. When you see her talk in interviews you'd never thought she had any goofiness inside her.
I've been slacking on my SNL fallouts; I've missed Bruce Willis and Edward Norton, but didn't miss Miley Cyrus -- smh. Sadly SNL is rerunning her show next weekend. And I wanted to do a Norton fallout, since he was big Marlon Brando fan and real life friend of his.
I can't wait to see Lady Gaga host on November 16th, in two weeks. I wish it was next week. But, we gotta give those SNL writers' brains some time think some sketches out.
Career Week Speaker:
Naseem Pedrad as an Arabic/Indian career speaker and Washington was her assistant, I guess. Both women were great but the sketch wasn't. All I got out of this was Pedrad is still good at what she does and Washington's ass looked amazing.
I've been meaning to talk about Pedrad and her career at SNL but never got to it -- sometimes I feel that she's been overlooked since last season when all these new faces came in. I even think the fans have forgotten about Pedrad. I feel that she's not being respected for what she's done on SNL, while some fans today are more focused on Cecily Strong and Kate McKinnon; which is fine, but we can't forget what she's done and inconsiderately, accidentally kick Pedard under the sofa.
Pedrad is now the longest tenured cast member since the departure of Fred Armisen, Jason Sudeikis and Bill Hader.
My Girl:
My Girl >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> That Stupid Fox Song.
"My Girl", played by Washington and Jay Pharoah, which is the parody of 'The Fox" song, was outstanding. This song shouldn't been a big hit instead of the original song. It's funny and people in relationships can relate to it. I think music channels should televise it -- like BET. BET should add this song on 106 and Park.
It's amazing how that Fox song is so popular. When you listen to it, it's clear how you don't need to be a great singer to have a hit, in this generation. But those songs become big so that people like me can say horrible the music industry has become.
Cartoon Catchphrase:
This sketch is a Aidy Bryant classic.
It's also a classic SNL sketch where it's just plain old goofy and funny.
Miss Universe:
Washington was amazing playing a "Miss.Uganda" on a Miss Universe contest. I was amazed how Washington could take her acting skills to this level. I always thought of her as a hot black chick.
Not only Washington was great on this sketch, this sketch showed how good the females on SNL are. It seems like we're heading back to that time where the female cast members dominated the show.
Date or Diss:
Cecily Strong can really get away with dressing and talking ghetto. She looked so good on this sketch. Kudos to the make-up artists at SNL who always do an amazing job.
Weekend Update:
Shaq and Barkley -- Oy vey, I'm afraid for Jay Pharoah's life. Lol. But a good sign for Pharoah as the big Shaq took it well when he tweeted about it over the weekend.
Kate McKinnon as chancellor Angela Merkel... What more can I say about McKinnon this season so far. She's been unbelievable. Right now, she's like a baseball player with 15 homers in April. Baseball fans will understand that ... As 89% of the people who read my blog never understand anything I type, in general.
Cecily Strong, whose new to the update desk, has been getting better and better every week. I can't do a podcast without sounding drunk (and I don't even drink), while Strong has been new to the update table and as been great. Nobody's as smart as Seth Meyers. Maybe Strong is, but not me. So, Strong has done a pretty damn good job on the table. She was a tad stiff in the first couple of times, but that's normal.
I've always said: In order to be part of Saturday Night Live, you obviously have to be insanely funny, but also, you have to be insanely intelligent.
