YES Network: Removing Legend for a Muppet

Bob Raissman of the Daily News broke news that WFan and sports radio icon Mike Francesa will be leaving the YES Network. YES will replace Francesa with ESPN-98.7's "The Michael Kay Show".

Not only YES is leaving Francesa, which is sad enough, they're replacing him with an ESPN radio show... Which, makes me wanna puke.

I'm surprised that the YES Network would televise a product of ESPN. I always had the mentality YES and ESPN were always competing toward each other. Now...they're gonna join forces? And the one who looks bad in this, is YES. ESPN doesn't need this; well, they probably do because they're so fucking thirsty. But as for the YES Network, they've lost it's pride by doing this. They are giving up by letting ESPN takeover.

The New Yankees network should never, ever, let ESPN have any second of their network. I'd rather YES be pulled off t.v instead of being helped by ESPN. Shows how YES has lost what it's stood for.

ESPN, to me, are like cockroaches -- as much as you want to rid of them, they just keep coming out of nowhere and take over your property.

What is the meaning of replacing Michael Kay with Francesa? Is this because YES is trying to do what every network stupidly thinks what's right, which is have someone "younger". Just like what happened to Regis Philbin, Ann Curry, Jay Leno? Replacing those greats, with someone younger because that "younger" replacement knows about Twitter? Give me a fucking break. As if we need anymore social media garbage on t.v.

I'm 25, and I love listening to Francesa. Not only I enjoy his sports knowledge, but I learn so much things outside of sports, from him; when it comes to history and other things. Most fans of his that are my age enjoy that too. There's more things to be taught by an older person. I like that old school personality. It's different. I don't want to see more technology and more assholes talk about Twitter and Facebook; I have enough of that.

What the hell is Kay gonna teach me? 'How the show "30-Rock" never gets big ratings, but is the best show, ever.' Please...

A lot of these networks don't understand what the younger demographic wants. They think they do, but don't.

Kay is a nice guy, I have nothing against him, I just don't like the company he's working part-time for. Also, he's pretty annoying, I have to admit. At times I find him annoying on Yankee games. Replacing Francesa with Kay, is a whole different world. I've heard him on radio and he's scripted; just like the ESPN company is scripted. He's being told what to say, or what to like. He's a muppet. That radio station is nothing like WFan radio; far-from it. YES is gonna go from truth and honesty, to corporates.

If this deal does happen, I'm not watching a second of the YES Network. I'll watch YES when the Yankees are playing - obviously, but sure as hell not when Kay is on. Reason why? Because I'm gonna be listening to Francesa on the radio, until another network takes him.

I won't be able to stand the sight of seeing an ESPN logo on the YES channel. I'm not watching him; you can take that to the bank, as Francesa said once. The only ones who will watch Kay on YES, are the ones who don't understand the concept of all this. Those people will just see Kay on YES and say: 'Hey, he's the Yankees' broadcaster, I'm gonna watch him'.

YES Network has lost the war. They've caved in. I've lost a lot of respect for what they've done. R.I.P YES -- you are now owned.
