Yes, last night, I decided to take three of my closest New York Met Twitter friends -- who eat, breath, sleep Mets -- and have a typical discussion about the upcoming 2014 season, on Twitter. I gave them five questions/topics about what to look for in 2014 for their Metropolitans.
Now mind you, I'm a die-hard New York Yankee fan. But since my site is based mostly on New York City events, I need to bring Mets discussions; also, I want to see the Mets become good again. When the Yankees and Mets are playing well, NYC becomes a very fun place to live in.
The three Met fans I had a Twitter discussion with, are:
@CurlsAndSports -- She's a columnist for CurlsAndSports.com
@Ralph_Knicks -- A Former Sports Columnist
@MetsOnMyMind -- He's a intern for the Bleacher Report
And myself @Dblea88 was involved in the discussions
Do You Think The Mets Will Sign SS Stephen Drew?
@dblea88 @Ralph_Knicks @metsonmymind if Sandy thinks with his head, he'll get him. #NYMDAS
— Erika Fernandez (@CurlsAndSports) February 8, 2014
@dblea88 Mets would love to. but Boras wants an opt-out clause put in for after this year. If he sticks to that, no way the Mets do #NYMDAS
— Ralph Guerrero (@Ralph_Knicks) February 8, 2014
@dblea88 @Ralph_Knicks @CurlsAndSports No, because he's not committed to winning right now and is waiting on the 2015 FA SS class.
— Michael Mandelkern (@metsonmymind) February 8, 2014
@metsonmymind @Ralph_Knicks @CurlsAndSports I'm gonna say: Yes. The Mets may be the most aggressive team and it may be his only choice.

Will Ike Davis Redeem His Met Career?
@dblea88 depends how u define redeem. 30 HRs and 40 doubles? probably. over 280? no. Ultimately I think he gets moved either way #NYMDAS
— Ralph Guerrero (@Ralph_Knicks) February 8, 2014
@dblea88 @Ralph_Knicks @CurlsAndSports Yes, his ceiling is through the roof and his career is on the line. I don't think he will disappoint.
— Michael Mandelkern (@metsonmymind) February 8, 2014
@metsonmymind @dblea88 @Ralph_Knicks I dig the whole "we believe in Ike campaign." But I gotta see it to believe it. #NYMDAS
— Erika Fernandez (@CurlsAndSports) February 8, 2014
@metsonmymind @Ralph_Knicks @CurlsAndSports I agree with Mike, David is too talented to abysmal, again. Ike is due. #NYMDAS
— Aaron (@dblea88) February 8, 2014
Will Terry Collins Finish The 2014 Season As The Manager?
@dblea88 @metsonmymind @Ralph_Knicks I kinda hope he doesn't even start the season.He's a yes man.I personally don't want him there #NYMDAS
— Erika Fernandez (@CurlsAndSports) February 8, 2014
@dblea88 @Ralph_Knicks @CurlsAndSports Yes, he's a lame duck manager and the Mets aren't going anywhere next season.
— Michael Mandelkern (@metsonmymind) February 8, 2014
@metsonmymind agree with Michael. No reason for the Mets to spend more money elsewhere, they will at least let him finish 2013 #NYMDAS
— Ralph Guerrero (@Ralph_Knicks) February 8, 2014
@CurlsAndSports @dblea88 @metsonmymind u have to keep in mind that @metsgm considers managers "middle management"
— Ralph Guerrero (@Ralph_Knicks) February 8, 2014
@Ralph_Knicks @CurlsAndSports @metsonmymind And I say, he does stay as Met manager. Mets will give another pass; especially with Harvey out
— Aaron (@dblea88) February 8, 2014
Will The Mets Make The Playoffs?
@dblea88 @Ralph_Knicks @CurlsAndSports I have a better chance of going on a date with Selena Gomez #NYMDAS
— Michael Mandelkern (@metsonmymind) February 8, 2014
@dblea88 No one expected the Padres to make it a few years ago, but still dnt see any way the Mets make it this year w/o Harvey #NYMDAS
— Ralph Guerrero (@Ralph_Knicks) February 8, 2014
@dblea88 @Ralph_Knicks @metsonmymind I'm looking forward to 2016 season. I think it'll be better by then. #NYMDAS
— Erika Fernandez (@CurlsAndSports) February 8, 2014
@CurlsAndSports @Ralph_Knicks @metsonmymind And I say, I have a better chance of going out with pornstar Britney Young :D ...... No? ..Okay.
— Aaron (@dblea88) February 8, 2014
@CurlsAndSports @Ralph_Knicks @metsonmymind MAYBE if they get Drew and Cruz ...they have a chance for a close 2nd WC.
— Aaron (@dblea88) February 8, 2014
@dblea88 @CurlsAndSports @Ralph_Knicks If the Mets got Drew, Cruz and a legitimate reliever, then maybe #NYMDAS
— Michael Mandelkern (@metsonmymind) February 8, 2014
@metsonmymind Only other option (thats currently on the team) would be Harang, IMO
— Ralph Guerrero (@Ralph_Knicks) February 8, 2014
@Ralph_Knicks as a reliever?
— Michael Mandelkern (@metsonmymind) February 8, 2014
@metsonmymind If they make the playoffs I think it means Harang has been starting
— Ralph Guerrero (@Ralph_Knicks) February 8, 2014
@Ralph_Knicks What??? You'd pick Harang over Colon, Niese and Wheeler? That's a joke, right?
— Michael Mandelkern (@metsonmymind) February 8, 2014
If The Mets Did Make The Playoffs, Whose The Pitcher For Game 1 or a Wild Card Game?
@dblea88 Johan Santana...no, JK. Bartolo. Cause if they make the playoffs it means he had a huge year. No other way they do #NYMDAS
— Ralph Guerrero (@Ralph_Knicks) February 8, 2014
@dblea88 @CurlsAndSports @Ralph_Knicks I'd go with Colon, he's the only Mets starter with postseason experience, but it's a big if #NYMDAS
— Michael Mandelkern (@metsonmymind) February 8, 2014
@dblea88 @Ralph_Knicks @metsonmymind def Colon.
— Erika Fernandez (@CurlsAndSports) February 8, 2014
@CurlsAndSports @Ralph_Knicks @metsonmymind Colon is 40. But I do see him pitching that game 1. Than Wheeler for a dreamful NLDS G 1 #NYMDAS
— Aaron (@dblea88) February 8, 2014
@dblea88 @CurlsAndSports @Ralph_Knicks Wheeler has the potential to give the best start of anyone on the Mets in 2014 #NYMDAS
— Michael Mandelkern (@metsonmymind) February 8, 2014
@Ralph_Knicks @metsonmymind @CurlsAndSports Very true. He can. Like I said, he can be better in the NL.
