John Travolta Might Win Emmy As Robert Shapiro

The People vs. O.J Simpson: American Crime Story has got me at my sofa on Tuesday nights or DVRing it and watching later that night.

I hate to give credit to a horrible true story like this, but it's hard to deny how good it is.

The series has brought back that dark time, in 1994.

I was about 6-years-old when this whole thing happen and you may think that I'd be too young to remember this case, but I actually did. How could I not? Didn't know much about O.J. Simpson or anyone else in the case or the ones who were murdered. I just remembered the words of "did he do it?" coming out of people's mouths, in this time.

And I sure as hell didn't know much about Robert Shapiro back then, however when you have the greatest star to come out of Brooklyn, New York, John Travolta, plays him in a role and not only plays him but does a great job at, I began to know who Shapiro is.

You take Travolta out of this series, you don't have good television. He's the star of the show. I've seen Shapiro talk in those commercials, so I know little to know what he really sounds and acts like, but the way Travolta impersonates him makes me believe he is Shapiro. Travolta plays him in such confident, charismatic, profound way, it's almost like he's been around him a lot through the years. He had to be.

In reality, the reason Travolta got involved in this series is because his own father was fascinated with this story.

I definitely see an Emmy win for the Saturday Night Fever star. Like I said, you take Travolta out of this series and there's no series. Not taking anything away from Cuba Gooding Jr. who plays Simpson, who he too has been amazing; I can actually see Gooding winning Lead Actor In Drama and Travolta winning for Supporting.

Even though Sarah Paulson could be the only one who can win for Supporting, as she plays prosecutor Marcia Clark. She too, has been outstanding.

The whole damn cast is good.

Would love to see Travolta win an award. It feels like for the past couple of years he hasn't done anything significant in movies or television. All he's been known for in this generation is for wearing hair pieces, being a pilot and calling Idina Menzel's name wrong.

We've forgotten the great films he's done, like Saturday Night Fever (which is one of my favorites of all-time) and Pulp Fiction. Especially SNF, for me, being that I'm from Brooklyn - born and raise.

Let's get Tony Manero that award he'll accept and not give back.
