Yankees Fallout: I C.C NOTHING

Yankees To Rays, 6-4

Tonight, was the first time I felt that the Yankees didn't have a shot to make the postseason.

Although, the feeling kinda went away when Alex Rodriguez hit that 2-run homerun in the 8th, to cut it to 5-4. That gave me some hope, because I know there's someone else who can provide the big. Also, Yankees showed some fight.

C.C Sabathia: This does not look like C.C Sabathia. Sabathia looked very soft, without this fastball. I know he was pitching well in the first couple of innings, but you can tell wasn't right without that 95 to 96-mph fastball.

The reason for his velocity being down -- I think -- he's been rusty. Sabathia has been on and off the D.L through the season. He hasn't hit his stride yet. But the problem is, we need him to hit his stride NOW !

Yankees can make the postseason and Sabathia could pitch the Yankees to the World Series. But they need him to win games, now.

Going into this game, Sabathia has not beaten a team over .500 since August 8th, against the Detroit Tigers. And still hasn't beaten a winning team since. Not good.

Curtis Granderson: I don't want to bash him, because he'e been making incredible catches in the oufield. Although, he's been feast of famine. Granderson has turned into the black Adam Dunn.

Granderson is striking out twice a game, now. It's ridiculous. I know he's always struck out a lot, but now it's getting out of hand. And you can't say to him: 'Granderson, you need to stop pulling the ball', because he can still hit homeruns, like he did tonight. He's got 38-homers, you know.

Just gotta let Granderson be, and hope he becomes more patient in the plate.

Nick Swisher: He's got to get out of the 2-hole. Swisher was hot batting second for a moment, but not anymore. He's getting fastballs that are hittable and not doing anything with them. Either Joe Girardi moves him down, or gives him a day off. Maybe he's tried.

Give Ichiro Suzuki the second spot in the lineup.

Eduardo Nunez's Error: You won't see Nunez in shortstop again. I love his bat, and he can DH with Andruw Jones struggling, but he can't play defense.

Nunez has got a great arm and can learn to get better at shortstop, however, in this moment for the Yankees where every play is crucial, he can't be out there.

I don't think Nunez cost the Yankees a chance to win, because Fernando Rodney has been so great this year he would have gotten the save with a one-run lead.

Orioles Lose: So that means the Yankees have life and they're still, believe or not, FIRST PLACE. Maybe it's meant to be.
