Yankees Fallout: Oh Nun You Don't, Orioles

September 1. 2012

Yankees Take The Second Against The Orioles, 4-3.

If the Yankees go on a tear from this point on, Eduardo Nunez's RBI single, will be the hit that everyone will remember.

Yankees didn't miss Nunez's glove -- as you may all know already -- but I think they missed his offense.

I was glad to see Nunez back in with the Yankees and I knew he was going to come up big. He's gotten clutch hits before with the Yankees, but his glove was at fault of him being removed from the Yankee roster.

That hit off Wei-Yin Chen was a fastball in on Nunez hands and muscled it to center to center. It was tough pitch to hit. Shows how much bat speed Nunez has.

That RBI single from Nunez, I felt, relaxed the Yankee hitters a bit. Also, it turned their adrenaline up -- and got their confidence began to build, after being deflated from yesterday's game.

Robinson Cano Game-Tying Homerun: That's what you want to see out of Cano -- opposite field hits. Though, this was an opposite field homerun.

Cano looks so dangerous when he hits those opposite field homers. Because it show that he doesn't have any wholes in this swing. But when he's trying to pull everything over that short porch in right, Cano looks terrible. Especially when the pitcher knows what he's trying to do.

That homer by Cano was big. It released so much stress from the Yankees and me. Lol. It ended a scoreless and hitless streak.

Yankees' Bullpen: What an amazing job. Yankees won this game because the bullpen kept them in the game. Cody Epply and Boone Logan were fantastic. They were the main reason why the Yanks won. Then, with the lead, David Robertson and Rafael Soriano looked unhittable. Robertson and Soriano looked like two angry men. They came out firing.

Robertson looked really good. I thought he was walk one or make an adventure, but he shut down the Orioles, 1-2-3. D-Rob looked great.

Curtis Granderson: We he left the game, it was ... Not again. But, he left the game due to tendonitis, which is a huge sigh of relief. I know Granderson hasn't been hitting, but still...you know he can get hot at anytime.

Big Win: Much needed win for the Bombers. They did not want to play tomorrow's game being down two games and having to win a must-game.

This win felt as if the Yankees haven't won in a longtime. It really did.

Yankees need to win tomorrow. If they do, that would be BIG ! Because they'll be up 4.0 games, and that will be a comfortable lead in September.

So I guess tomorrow is a must-win ...
