Yankees Fallout: OH SWISH !

FINAL: Blue Jays 7 Yankees 10

In the next thirteen games, every win the Yankees get will be 'big'. But this wasn't only a big win, this was big series-sweep.

Yankees coming into series, I felt, had to sweep the Blue Jays, with the Oakland Athletics coming into town. You want to get as much wins against a team like the Blue Jays, in this time of the year.

Nick Swisher: I knew Swisher would do something big in that bases loaded at-bat, just because everything was going well in that inning for the Yankees. There was no pressure. And sure enough he hits the grand slam.

That grand slam was a good confidence builder for Swisher. Although, today, I was thinking, I prefer to have Swisher on a hot stride in last September and early October - going into the postseason. You hope the rest of the lineup can carry the team, and let Swisher get hot in October.

Same thing for Curtis Granderson. We all we him to start hitting now, but we know he's got a hot-streak coming soon. Just like Swish, you hope it comes in late September and October.

Here Come The A's: This is not the Blue Jays, Red Sox or Rays -- the Atheltics are a playoff team, most likely.

Athletics -- like the Yankees -- are fighting for their lives. Not only they're leading comfortably in the wild card, they're 3.5 games back behind the A.L West least Texas Rangers. I'm sure they still feel they can catch up to them. But the Rangers will most likely win the west.

This series is going to feel like a playoff series. Yankees and Athletics could very well meet each other, either in the ALDS or ALCS.

Yankees would like to take two out of three, would love a sweep, but this a very good team.

After this series with Oakland, Yankees face teams under .500. A's are the only hump the Yanks have to go through in games left remaining. Gotta get through this, and the rest SHOULD be easy.
