Although, we did expect things in the 2011-12 season, but with the NBA lockout, it kinda brushed everything back, just a bit. But the Knicks still should have gotten themselves in a better playoff position. Even though Jeremy Lin saved our season, the Mike D'antoni firing threw everything out of whack with a new coach in Charles Woodson.
Now it's time. The waiting game is over, for Anthony to fit in New York, or to feel confortable. Now he's got to make noise in Madison Square Garden and in this city. The New York Rangers hockey team got MSG rocking and almost made it to the Stanley Cup. They did their job. Now it's time for the Knicks and Carmelo Anthony to do theres.
Anthony is the only top-10 player in the NBA who hasn't made it to the NBA Finals, yet. Kobe Bryant, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitizki, Dwight Howard -- they have all either made an Finals appearance, or won it. And Anthony should be on that list, already.
I know it's difficult to get to the Finals and Knicks fans can't expect that this year, but, he - and the Knicks - got to make something happen this year. No more first round eliminations. That's got to end this year in the playoffs. We're not the terrible Knicks anymore. We have a team that can go deep into the playoffs.
The Knicks are the only team in New York that hasn't done a thing in New York City in the past thirteen years. The New York Mets have done more than the Knicks, in this town.
Knicks have a lot of depth, this year. Also a lot of age, but a lot of depth. It sucks to see Amare Stoudemire out for eight weeks and you hope we get Iman Shumpert back as soon as possible.
The player I keep forgetting, that the Knicks acquired in the off-season, is Raymond Felton. Felton is going to help this team a lot. It sucks that Stoudemire is out now for serval weeks, because Felton can facilitate to Stoudmire, like he did in 2010, when Stoudemire had that MVP type season.
Felton and Jason Kidd are going to give the Knicks certified, real point guard, which is something they haven't had since Chauncey Billups was on the team. Kidd and Felton are going to keep things in place on the floor. Kidd is going to help, no question, but Felton is going to really open some eyes. He's gonna make Knicks and fans realize why he should of never been traded.
