Hearing all these old songs and musicians really shows you how many music sucks, today.
But that's a story another time -- however, this story is about an unbelievable night at Madison Square Garden, for a great cause.
To me, not only this was a phenomenal concert, it was a great way to cap off 2012 in the pop-culture world. Hurricane Sandy was the biggest moment in 2012. Then having all these legendary musicians perform in a relief concert for it, was everything put into one. Sandy was the worst thing to happen this year, but then, toward the end of the year, the music world murders Sandy and makes us smile and hopeful for 2013.
I was so jealous of those people who got to see that live. They were having a ball. It was a bunch of 40 to 50-year old demographic and were rocking out like
Rolling Stones: Ugh...I'm a shame to say, but I missed them perform. I must've had something else one while they were performing ... Stupid me.
I did see the highlights of them performing on Extra where Billy Bush was talking about, and the Stones looked awesome. Mick Jagger is unbelievable. I'm starting to believe he can perform until he's 100-years old.
The others were amazing as well. Kanye West was tremendous. With a crowd that looked as if they wouldn't be into Kanye's music, looked to really enjoy. That's just shows you the genius in West.
Alicia Key was great -- what else is new -- and looked so, so beautiful. I was upset in the middle of the show when she was singing and finished without singing "Empire State of Mind". But then, right the end of the show, when I was about to go to sleep, she sang it and it was a perfect end to a song.
Jon Bon Jovi singing "Living on a Prayer" was one of the best moments of the show.
Billie Joel was fantastic. Got everyone in that crowd in a nostalgie state.
The show was worth every penny.
