The Melo-less New York Knicks lose to the Indian Pacers on the road, 81-76.
No question the Knicks missed their MVP caliber Carmelo Anthony tonight, who was suspended one game for something idiotic, and should have never happened.
If you're a Knicks fan, or a Knick player, you look at games like tonight when your team is facing one of the best teams in the eastern conference, and you want all your players on the floor for that game. But when they lose, and the best player on your team isn't playing because he's suspended for something stupid, it's frustrating as hell.
Listen, Anthony is playing out of his mind this season and it's one mistake he's done, but he's playing on a 23-12 team and that's second place in the east. He cannot lose games for bullshit like that. This is, probably, a championship contending team. As the best player on the team, Anthony has to show more leadership than that. Stuff like that, can ruin a team's run. It's bad enough Anthony and the rest of the older players get injured, Knicks can't have Melo losing games for nonsense.
I don't know what exactly was said from Kevin Garnett on Monday night's game at home, against the Boston Celtics. But I don't think it was anything that bad for him to get suspended, without Carmelo even throwing a fist at him during the game. I mean -- if you're gonna get suspended for what K.G said, you might as well knock his skinny, old ass out. As least kick him on the knees so he can retire.
Melo can't afford for this to happen again.
Amare Stoudemire: For 30-years old, he should not be playing like this.
Stoudemire looks like a 40-year old whose been playing in the NBA for twenty seasons. If he looks and plays like this now, what's he going to look at 35?
It's sad. This was a player, two years ago, who was scoring 30-points a game and was considered an MVP for the Knicks. Now, he looks way off of what he once was. His shots are way off; his speed to the basket is not there anymore, and he looks old -- and he's not.
You can tell me that Stoudemire is still rusty, but he shouldn't be playing that poorly still in his age.
I hope Stat turns it around. I do.
