Thank god, Saturday Night Live is back! I didn't want to have to make another column about Manti Te'o - but this time, it'll be about him inventing air sex.
As Jennifer Lawerence walked down those steps to begin hosting last night's January 20th, 2013 edition of SNL, made me realize that she has a nice 'boo-tay'. Did you see the back of her? Lordy! That's a booty, folks -- not Pippa Middleton.
But this is not about how great Lawerence's ass is, it's about how she did on SNL; and she was okay, I thought. Her best skit was the opening monologe, when she was trash talking the other actresses who are nominated with her for the "Actress Leading Role" category in the Academy Awards.
The idea skit was smart and funny, but the ending of the joke after she bashed the actress - threw me off, when she would compliment them. I thought that was cheesy. I don't know why they couldn't stay level with the joke. What she should've done was praise them in the beginning of the joke, then bash them at the end.
Besides that, she didn't do much on the show. I'm starting to realize for the host whose doing SNL for the very first time aren't asked to say many lines. I realized that when Lindsey Lohan hosted, a year ago. Lohan didn't do anything when she hosted.
Bill Harder sitting in the audience as Tommy Lee Jones -- impersonating Jones' from the "Golden Globes" -- was a win. It gave Lawrence's opening a little extra to it. And it was brilliant, for someone like Lawrence was probably a little nervous in the opening.
When Harder did the "Tommy Shuffle" -- distances his great talents his from everyone else.
The SNL writers would thank Jones for not laughing and acting like a grinch at the Globes.
The Lumineers as the Musical Guest:
I could've swore The Lumineers already performed "Ho Hey" in SNL already. But what it was is I got confused with their performance on Jay Leno, a couple of months ago... So... Maybe you guys wanted to know that... O_O
But this is one of my favorite songs today; it's actually the only song that I really like and enjoy hearing in this horrible music era. I tend to find myself listening to just old music on Pandora. I never listen to today's music, anymore. But this song I can listen to, over and over again. It's a true classic. It's simple lyrics and easy to understand. It reminds me a lot of Green Days' "Time Of Your Life" -- because it has that same 'goodbye' or 'going away' feel to it. I love it.
Lance Armstrong, Manti Te'o, Jodie Foster skit:
"I don't have a delete key on my computer" -- LMAO. I sometimes wonder if I have one ... (Smh)
Jason Sudeikis playing Lance Armstrong was great; focusing on Armstrongs' cocky demeanor on the Oprah Winfrey's interview nailed it.
Kate McKinnon playing Jodie Foster and Foster's demeanor on her controversial Golden Globes speech, was funny as hell. McKinnon is very good; I'm always 'ga-ga' over Cecily Strong, when McKinnon is just as good. She plays the lesbian roles very well with Foster and Ellen Degeneras. They need to find a role for her.
And lastly, Bobby Moynihan playing Notre Dame football player Manti Te'o. What Moynihan sold in that skit was the way he looked. Making the same exact look and head direction as Te'o, was the money shot in that segment.
The Best Skit of the Show:
Another great skit for Bobby Moynihan. But this one stole the show.
Moynihan's non-fiction persona of "Anthony Crispino" is his best impersonation on SNL. It's way better than "Drunk Uncle". In Drunk Uncle he plays a drunk person well, but it's not as funny as Anthony Crispino.
My mom fell asleep early last night, so I DVR'ed for her. And this morning when she saw this, she was crying with laughter.
Moynihan is going to be that next star of list many legends, that comes out of SNL. I really believe that. He could play anything. I'm not gonna say he's this generations Chris Farley, because Farley had done a lot more already and is better than Moynihan -- but he's close.
@dblea88 Is it your birthday today? Happy birthday!!! Whenever it is!

Before I end this, I just want to gloat over my Birthday tweet from the beautiful, talented and funny Cecily Strong, who sent this to me last Saturday. Even though she didn't exactly know the day of my B-Day (lol), it was the only tweet I needed to make my day happy. So, even though she gives many birthday tweets to all her fans, I want you to hate on mines :D
