Yankees: Is Scott Hairston Bronx Bound?

If you wanted the New York Yankees to sign Scott Hairston, there's a good chance he might wind up in the Bronx.

Hairston -- whose heart is really with the Mets -- is asking the Metropolitans for a 2-year deal worth $8 million. But the Mets said: 'We're broke, asshole'. Meaning: They rejected the offer Hairston wanted.

So, that looks to leave the Yankees to be the only team ... Right?

The only problem Hairston has with the Yankees -- and why he prefer to play with the Mets -- is the fact that he won't play everyday, like he did in Queens. As a Yankee, he's likely to play, or hit against lefty starters only.

Hairston, 32-years old, batted .263, hit 20 homeruns with 57 RBI.

Me, personality, I'm not high on Hairston. But I know how much power the Yankees lost, so I'd take him. And it's most likely going to be a 1-year deal -- if he even takes it.

I feel an acquisition coming from the Yankees. I can see Hairston, or Michael Morse coming to the Yankees. Or both.

Yankee fans -- including me -- want the big name, like Justin Upton. When really, you don't need that. If the Yankees got Morse, Hairston and -- let's say -- Jason Kubel, that's 80 homeruns inserted in the lineup. And they aren't big names.
