Knicks Tame Warriors, 109-105.
What a game... A great game overall and great game for Steph Curry. Scoring 54-point, after that brawl yesterday between the Golden State Warriors and Indiana Pacers.
Curry reminded me so much of Reggie Miller coming into Madison Square Garden in the 90's, when he'd be just unconscious from the three-point line.
If you're in your teens or twenties, this is a game to remember. Especially if Curry does becomes a superstar in this league. You can say: 'I remember that night when Steph Curry scored 54-points against the Knicks at MSG'.
The Knicks Win: Yea it's nice to score 54, but I rather get the W. And that's what the Knicks.
Knicks couldn't lose this game. The defense wasn't all that great -- obviously -- but they played clutch defense when needed to. Knicks, nor any team in the NBA is going to win by 25 points and shut down the opposing teams' offense. At this point of the season it's all about the W-I-N.
I think the Knicks have been playing poorly because they got bored. Yea, you can say Amare Stoudemire's return and all the injuries cause that all well. However, I feel the Knicks got bored being the no.2 seed.
Though games like tonight, when the MSG crowd gets into and it's playoff-type atmosphere, the Knicks show fight. They fed off it.
Tyson Chandler: Career-high 28-rebounds... Unbelievable. The man has shown to be the best center in the league; I'm sorry for those who disagree. Right now, who are you taking?: Tyson Chandler or Dwight Howard? It's very simple.
J.R Smith: 26-points, at tonight's win against Golden State.
Carmelo Anthony is the obvious MVP. But the unseen MVP is J.R Smith. He's been the second scorer on this team. Hands down. When Stoudemire, Anothony, Rasheed Wallace, Raymond Felton, Jason Kidd were all down, Smith was there holding the Knicks. Even Wally Szczerbiak said on the Knicks postgame: "where would this team be without him". He's 100% right. They would be in trouble without Smith. And he's also the CHEAPEST, valuable Knicks. Only making $2.8 million. So far he's been a robbery for the Knicks.
Iman Shumpert and Raymond Felton: Didn't do as much in the game offensively, but both had some big steals. I thought Shumpert's defensive was very good tonight. Had 6-steals. And Felton had 4-steals and two major ones in the 4th quarter, that probably won this game for the Knicks.
Excellent defensive by both Shumpert and Felton.
Carmelo Anthony: Yes he scored 35-points, like he always does, though I was impressed by his facilitation tonight. How about 8-assists for Anthony, tonight. Taking a page from Kobe Bryant's book this season.
Melo has to start become facilitator. You know how many easy opens shots he can provide, when three defenders are on him... He can become Lebron James.
