Now that Buckwild has ended their season -- which was too quick -- and Washington Heights is still running and soon coming to an end, what show did better?
What I Think Did Better: They both did well. I like both shows. The only problem is Buckwild ended too quick.
Which One I Like More: Buckwild. It's a fun, exciting, a home warming show and I get a kick out of their 'happy go lucky' lifestyle. I can sit home and watch a full day marathon of Buckwild -- that's how good it was for me. It has that old-school "Real World" feel to it. I'm also fond of every cast member.
Shain is my favorite. The best moment of his on the show, is when he and the rest of the cast begin to build the swimming pool in the back of the pick-up truck and said: "Hey, as kids we didn't have much. So we had fun with what we got". Loved that. Just because he said that, this show needs to continue to show us dorks who stay home, on our computers (that includes me) besides going outside and having fun.
What Did People Like: I'm gonna say Washington Heights grew with the people more than Buckwild. Reason why I believe that: when the Heights is on t.v it's always trending on Twitter. Either hashtag-WashingtonHeights is trending, or one of the cast's names like "Ludwin" or "Frankie". I saw Buckwild trend once, on Twitter.
Another reason why the Heights may be doing better than Buckwild, is the growing Dominican population in New York City. The Dominican Americans can easily relate to it; and all other hispanics enjoy too; like Puerto Ricans.
I also notice how people don't care for Buckwild, but then like to bash Washington Heights... I guess the Heights still wins, there.
Heights leading cast member P.J -- whose the Shain of W.H -- brings such positivity and authentic emotions to the show. He's a perfect role model for the kids who seem to be going in the wrong direction in the slums of New York. P.J is not spotless, but he makes the best out of what he's got.
My favorite moment of P.J's: when he and "Reyna" were talking from a terrace, on how to live life. And he tells Reyna if he started to complain how bad his life is, in spanish he says: "me joder". Translations: 'I'm fucked', in spanish. That was his best moment on the show. Admired his attitude in that scene.
So whether you like Buckwild or Washington Heights, I think both shows will be around for a long time. Hey, if MTV kept "Teen Mom" for this long, why not these shows...
