Knicks: Is Rajon Rondo possible to get?

I would love to say 'yes', but I'm afraid it's not possible. Although, it could be possible next year when Rajon Rondo becomes a free agent.

But let's say the New York Knicks have a chance at getting Rondo this season, via trade. And it's a trade idea of mine. It would have to be a three-team trade, since the Knicks don't really have any assets to give to the Boston Celtics. So they'll need to get creative.

Here's my trade idea to get Rondo to N.Y:

Knicks get: Rajon Rondo, David Lee

Celtics get: Iman Shumpert, Klay Thompson & 2015 pick

Warriors get: Tyson Chandler, Raymond Felton

Another Way To Get Rondo To The Knicks, This Season:

Can Rondo do a '2010 Carmelo Anthony Plan'?  If teams are gonna want to trade for him, then want him to sign extension, Rondo can decide where he'd want to go.

The Dallas Mavericks might want to trade for Rondo and want him to sign an extension since he'll be a free agent after next season. They wouldn't want to give up the world for him, then see him leave elsewhere. It could play the same way Carmelo played it.

You have to remember that Rondo is coming off an ACL injury. He probably won't start playing t'll mid-season. Some teams are going to be skeptical to give up a lot for a player with that type of injury and will be a free agent.

We have no clue what team Rondo would like to play for. Carmelo wanted to come to New York because he was from there -- and Rondo is not. But could he want to play with Carmelo and for the Knicks? Why wouldn't he.

He won't go to the Miami Heat; I don't think -- but you never know. He's not going to the L.A Clippers with Chris Paul already there. He can go to Dallas, if they acquire Dwight Howard and have good pieces around them.

So my guess is -- he'll probably be an L.A Laker, or a New York Knick. I see him going to a big market team.

Is it IMPOSSIBLE for Rondo to play for the Knicks this upcoming season? I'm afraid so. Though we did think Melo playing for the Knicks in 2010 was going to be impossible.
