Yankees: Howie Kendrick?

Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan tweets that the Los Angeles Angels are "open for business", and one player of theirs that hasn't been talked about for trade discussion, that I would love for the New York Yankees is infielder Howie Kendrick.

Kendrick players second and first base. I don't know if he plays third, which would help that Yankees who need a third baseman with a big bat. Though, he does first. Yankees need a right-handed first baseman. And how perfect would it be to add the 30-year old Kendrick to the Yankee lineup.

For those Yankee fans who know Kendrick, know that Kendrick is a well known "Yankee-Killer". He's got a well over .300 career average against New York.

Yankees would rather add more a power-hitting right-handed bat, but Kendrick is high average offensive player. He can spray the ball all over the field; and has very good opposite field power. I can see him hitting a bevy of opposite field homers in Yankee Stadium over that short porch in right.

Kendrick's 2013 stats: 11 homers, 41 RBI, .300 BA, .341 OBP

Why get Michael Young, if the Yankees can a younger, better infielder like Kendrick. Might have to cough up prospects for him, but he's worth it. This is a very good player. I'm shocked to hear that the Angels are open to trade him. I really hope the Yankees/Brian Cashman are interested.
