It's a great day in the hip-hop/music world, as hip-hop icon Eminem returns to the spotlight, with his new single "Berzerk", for his upcoming album "Marshall Mathers LP 2".
This is the Real Slim Shady. The Eminem you saw in the late 2000's where he was bland, unbleached hair and rapping about his depression with drugs and not being the creative comedic, genius he was when he first started, wasn't the real Eminem. Yea, he made great hits in that time period, like "Not Afraid" and his collaboration with Rihanna, "Love The Way You Lie, etc --- still, it wasn't Eminem. He was just another rapper.
The funny, colorful, dark, 'making fun of other celebrities', is the Eminem this music world needs. That's how he made it. The 40-year old hip-hop legend didn't make who he is today by just being a white rapper, he made it by becoming one of the most controversial, greatest rapper since -- I'll say it -- Tupac Shakur.
If you told me: Since Tupac's passing, which rapper is more like him, I'd say Eminem. Because of the combination of his rap lyrics and off the stage reputation.
