METS: Bring In Matt Kemp!

Do the New York Mets want to sell tickets? Do they NOT want another ghost town in Citi Field next season? And most importantly, do they want to win next season? If they say yes to all these questions, then they need to trade for this guy on the left.

Dave Stewart, whose the agent of Los Angeles Dodger outfielder Matt Kemp, strongly believes that his client will be traded at next week's winter meetings.

That means, the Mets front office need to get to work and put together a package to bring Kemp to Queens.

The Mets have started off this offseason 1-for-1, so far. Signing Curtis Granderson was huge. Now they have to keep the ball moving and look to get the next guy. And Kemp, is that 'next' guy.

Enough is enough. It's time for the Mets to go all out and bring in a superstar player that's going to get the Met fan saying: "I will be at Citi Field, on Opening Day". Kemp will definitely bring asses to seats. He would bring a buzz in Queens, just like what Carlos Beltran and Pedro Martinez brought back in 2005. Not only he'd bring obvious male Met fans, he'll bring in ladies to Citi Field. Last week, when rumors were swirling on Twitter about Kemp being moved to possibly the Yankees or Boston Red Sox, there were girls tweeting that they'd "love to see Kemp play in person" and would buy tickets to see him. Kemp is good for business.

Met owners Fred and Jeff Wilpon and GM Sandy Alderson know what Kemp brings to the field. Though, it's understandable for them to be undecided what Kemp will bring in the future, when the Dodger All-Star outfielder has missed a bevy of games in the last two seasons. Kemp missed 56 games in 2012 and in 2013 he missed 89.

But I feel Kemp is due to have a healthy, productive season in 2014, where ever he goes. Although he would feed off playing in New York. Especially if you look at his impressive career stats in Citi Field.

Kemp's career stats in Citi Field: 23 for 60 in fifteen games, 9-RBI, 10-homeruns and hit .383.

The 10 homeruns in fifteen games at Citi Field really jumps at me. And most of those homeruns came in when Citi Field had the fences pushed back.

With David Wright, Granderson and Kemp in the middle of the Mets lineup, players like Daniel Murphy, Chris Young, Eric Young, Travis d'Arnaud are going to feed off those All-Stars. The younger players like d'Arnaud won't be pressured to succeed. The reason why Robinson Cano played so well with the Yankees in the beginning of his career, was the fact he had so many veterans protecting him in the lineup. Cano was there just to be the number nine hitter. It was easy for him to be great.

Alderson and the Wilpons have to come up with a package to bring Kemp to Queens. Just try, at least.

People think it's impossible for the Mets to make the playoffs. But if you dissect the N.L East, besides the Washington Nationals and probably the Atlanta Braves, there isn't much of a threat, anymore. Adding Kemp, with Wright, Granderson, Zack Wheeler and hopefully the other pieces the Mets add this offseason, the Mets can make a playoff run.

Yea, getting Nelson Cruz would nice. But Kemp is better. It's like what Justin Timberlake's character as "Sean Parker" said, in the movie "The Social Network" -- "A million dollars isn't cool? You know what's cool. A billion dollars".
