Levine was okay ... I mean, you can't expect too much from a musician who hosts SNL; he's not gonna be Seth MacFarlane. But he did what he had to do. His job was to look sexy, and make the girls in audience scream. Job well done.
Levine's Monologue
I liked the idea opening of "The Voice" theme, where they had guest celebrity judges.
When I saw Andy Samberg, I said: 'oh cool, it's Andy'. Then, when I saw Cameron Diaz, I said: Oh look, it's Cameron Diaz!'. But when I saw Jerry Seinfeld as the last judge, that's when this monologue won for me.
As a "Seinfeld" nut, I fainted like a Michael Jackson fan in a concert when I saw Jerry Seinfeld. I will not surprised if there were EMT workers in the SNL audience just incase Seinfeld fans fainted. He's got that type of power. There's something about that HIGH VOICE that makes my knees buckle! Lol.
Firehouse Incident
This is where my title 'WTF Was That' comes to meaning.
At first, I was like: 'what in the blue hell is this'. I got confused with Bill Hader's character talking about having an ex-girlfriend, when he looked and sounded gay. Lol. Also, his character is suppose to be a fireman -- and firemen don't normally act like that.
The way he acted, reminded me of Renee Graziano from "Mob Wives". That's what I really thought about when he kept screaming.
But the hilarity hit me when he put the fur coat on.
It's suppose to be a skit that's flat out, stupid funny. You create a skit like this from being straight out silly. If you're with your friends at home and you're just having fun, this is the type of stuff you're gonna come up with.
A fireman, acting and dressing (lol) like a homosexual, is funny.
Sopranos High
By far, my favorite skit on SNL. If you haven't watch this, please do.
Bobby Moynihan is gold. Lorne Michaels hit the jackpot when he found this guy.
I instantly laughed when I saw Moynihan walk down the hallway as Tony Soprano. When I saw that, right away I knew it was going to be good.
Aidy Bryant, in her small part, was brilliant. Calling Tony "a fat fucking piggy bank" was greatness. She was a big reason to why the skit continued to be funny.
Kate McKinnon was amazing as Carmela Soprano. Her impersonation of Carmela spot on.
Then, you gotta love Cecily Strong as Dr. Jennifer Meifi. ...Even though she said one sentence, she always gonna win with me. She could just STAND THERE and do NOTHING and I still think she should win an Oscar. Lol.
