Yankees: Juan Rivera is Back!

January 28, 2013

The New York Yankees sign old friend Juan Rivera to a minor league contract.

Now all the Yankees need to do is trade for Alfonso Soriano, and the 2003 Yankees are back!

Also, bring Hideki Matsui and Nick Johnson out of retirement and the '03 Yankees will really be back.

I like the signing. Rivera has always been a good right-handed hitter.

Bringing him back to the Bronx could revive his career. Being a L.A Dodger, or being in the National League, could ruin your game if you were an American League player throughout your career.

In the N.L, if you're in your mid-30's and you can't play the field anymore, you're pretty much fucked because you're gonna lose playing time with no DH.

Now, Rivera can play in the OF and be DH for the Yankees.

He got traded to the Dodgers in 2011, from the Toronto Blue Jays in the middle of the season.

In '11 with Toronto and L.A he hit .258, 11 homeruns and 74 rbi. Last year with the Dodgers, he played

Last year with the Dodgers, with 109-games played, he hit .244, 9 homeruns and 47 rbi.

I like the signing. He could be our Andruw Jones of 2013.
